To commemorate the life of Anne Devlin, one of our greatest heroes and first female political prisoner, this beautiful plaque has been specially commissioned by Cuimhní Anne Devlin from artist Joram (“Jerome”) Drori, cast by him in his workshop and bronze finished.

Now, cast in a limited edition of just 71 pieces – one for each year of Anne’s life – this artistic work is available to purchase.

All profits from the sale will  be used to help have Anne’s husband’s body moved from his grave (from which Anne was so tragically removed in dead of night) to hers, so that she may finally rest in peace with the man she loved.

There are just two contemporary images of Anne Devlin that we know of.

One was by the miniature portrait painter Ann Lyndon, painted c.1808, shortly after Anne was released from prison in 1806 and while she was Lady’s Companion to Mrs. Hammond.

This has now been lost, and is only available to us in extremely poor-quality black and white reproductions today.

The second image is a silhouette of a much older woman. It was found in the drawer of a desk with Jemmy Hope’s bible and now rests on loan in The National Museum, Collins' Barracks, Dublin. Hand painted rather than cut from black paper, it may have been made by one of Anne’s children, or she could have had it done on a trip to the seaside. Such portraits were not being produced in Dublin at the  time, however, so Anne may

have travelled abroad on holidays (e.g. to Blackpool) and had it done there, but it is unlikely that we will ever know for sure.

The artist referred to these two portraits when designing this plaque, and was guided by them to produce his new, 3-D portrait.

Each plaque comes securely packed and is complete with a beautiful Certificate of Authenticity, numbered and signed by Mícheál Ó Doibhilín, Chairperson of Cuimhní Anne Devlin, the organisation   behind the annual Anne Devlin commemorations and which commissioned this plaque, and Kilmainham Tales Teo. is proud to be working with Cuimhní Anne  Devlin on this and all other Anne Devlin-related projects.

Each box is labelled with the plaque number, also signed and authenticated by Mícheál.

This number matches that of the certificate, and a label with the same number, also signed, is
